hiya hiya hiya hey hey hidey ho..
i just joined this list earlier today....
my question/dilemma::.. I am using an SMC EZ Card 10 pci
ethernet card & Redhat 6.1 and want to connect to the network here on
campus, however, it appears there is a driver problem or a driver missing.
During installation of Redhat i had DHCP attempt to detect settings, but that
failed & i have tried using both pump and dhcpcd from the terminal
after redhat was installed & setup to gather network information via dhcp
& initialize eth0 but with no luck. I am dual booting win & linux
and the card works fine in win so i know the problem is not a hardware
issue but a driver/software config issue. i have installed the dhcpcd rpm
referred to @
https://iats.missouri.edu/servlets/knowledgebase/article/11021
but the code on this page has changed slightly in redhat 6.1 and so i need to go
a different route in fixing the problem. so far i hav heard that i possibly
will hav to obtain new driver & recompile the kernel. Plees do not
take any knowledge on my part for granted when responding to this as i
am somewhat (tho not completely) new to linux!
btw, im located @ 4th floor of Wolpers
thanks
