I have a Canon BJC 610 that works fine with linux. But I probably won't
ever buy another Canon ink jet... The 600 series and my girlfriends 2000C
both chew up ink like mad. The ink will evaporate in my 610 over the
course of a couple months even if nothing is printed... I've had nothing
but trouble with Canon printers.

At ECC we use a Laserjet 6L that has been great. It's quiet, quick, and
looks great. We haven't replaced a cartridge yet. My next printer will
probably be a laserjet.
