Yes.  You are losing your mind ;)

really, to run X you want no less than 16 MB.  You might be able to get
one of the tinyX distributions (check freshmeat) to go on this ok.  Linux
itself will run fine on such a machine, and if you can settle for text
browsing, lynx would be decent...

If you just want to browse, you could also check out www.qnx.com; their
demo disk (just 1 1.44Mb floppy) has a windowing system with web browser
and dialup access; it's really pretty darn sweet for the size.
