check out http://glide.xxedgexx.com This is the guy writing the 3dfx
drivers...

curretly working 3d/linux and free:
		3dfx VooDooI
		3dfx VooDooII
		3dfx Rush
Daryll Straus is doing the development under a NDA. The Banshee is 2d
only in linux currently. The VooDooIII is coming out and it should take
a few month to flesh out the drivers. 

Xinside and MetroX are doing 3d also.  I think that Xinside is
delivering on Permedia and others.
check out SuSe also I think they are working on 3d also.
