Hey all,
My self and Ozra Zakeri are testing a new linux box running listproc which
will take over the MU Listproc services soon from Showme node 17. The box
needs to be pounded a bit though, so I was hoping that some adventurous
linux users would help. You will be able to filter the messages easily, and
be warned that the box will be "rebuilt" several times in the next few weeks
as part of our disaster recovery mechanism. To let some of you know what is
going on - if you didn't read Jason Carroll's post a few days ago - the
Showme group is currently working on porting Listproc, web services,
kerberos/radius authentication, net news, and a replacement for
only.missouri.edu onto a bunch of Dell Poweredge servers running RH 5.2.
We've got a rack for the ten or so boxes over at Telecom, and hopefully in a
little bit, there may be a presentation at the monthly meetings about this
stuff.
Anyway - Please help, the info is:
Post whenever you like, but it's really a test for traffic loads, not
content, so all of the messages can be deleted (you can set up a filter if
you like to pipe 'em to /dev/null... HEHE)
send an email to EMAIL:PROTECTED with no subject and "subscribe
potest-l <your name>" in the body...
If you have any questions about our Linux Projects, please feel free to
contact me or any of the Showme Group...
Thanks all,
Byron Dill
