Good assessment Steve. I suspect this will solve Jeff's problem.
One more hint: I use a command called "linuxconf" to configure networking
and other stuff sometimes. It has a networking section that allows you to
specify all kinds of important parameters such as IP address.....
However, you probably won't need this program because I suspect Steve's
/etc/resolv.conf solution will take care of things.
