WELCOME TO MLUG
***************

This letter is to welcome you to the Mizzou Linux Users Group (MLUG) and
to notify you that you are now added to our mailing list. Here are a few
things that I would like you to know about MLUG:

1. Please feel free to use the MLUG mailing list to ask ANY questions
that you have concerning Linux and related issues. NO question is too
basic or too complicated to post to the mailing list. The members of MLUG
vary a great deal in background and experience, so almost any question
will apply to multiple people on the list. Please help to keep the
mailing list healthy and functional by not only asking questions, but also
by posting answers to other people's questions if you can. Send mail to
the mailing list at EMAIL:PROTECTED

2. Besides the mailing list, the MLUG website is the main source for
keeping abreast of what is going on in our organization. Go to
http://www.mlug.missouri.edu to check up on meeting times, coming events,
member information, etc.

3. All MLUG services are provided for by the mlug server at
mlug.missouri.edu (128.206.158.42) This server is where the website and
mailing list are maintained. All MLUG members are granted a free account
on the MLUG server. To get your account, please email me at
EMAIL:PROTECTED and let me know. I will then contact you by
phone or email to personally set up your account. Feel free to
use it for constructive means, such as email, file storage, web sites,
etc. Just don't abuse it.

4. The MLUG meets about twice a month to discuss general business and to
learn more about linux. The meetings start with a "Question and Answer
Session" where people can discuss their concerns about linux for about an
hour. This Q&A session is then followed by a presentation by one of our
members on a subject of general interest. Due to the strain of
organizing our Alternative Computing Fair, the next meeting has not yet
been scheduled. Please watch the mailing list and website for the next
meeting.

Ok, that about covers everything I can think of. Once again, welcome to
MLUG! Also, if you ever have any questions about MLUG, please feel free
to contact me.
