Correct. It installs the 2.0.36 kernel. It includes the few upgrade
packages you need for the 2.2.1 kernel and a tarball of
/usr/src/linux-2.2.1.
If you're going to install these updates make sure you get
modutils-2.1.121-4.i386.rpm. Mandrake has a link to where you can get it
on their web page. The zero version of this will lock things up.
I went to the rawhide directory and grabbed all of their packages after I
installed Mandrake. It has an rpm for the 2.2 kernel. It also defaults to
gnome instead of kde, though both are still on there.

Don't know about this one. I didn't have kde before I installed Mandrake.
