I don't know if it is true, but it is definitely Rovesque. Do you know
nothing about him at all? Watch "Bush's Brain" or read something. How
about the time during the 2000 Republican primary that they claimed McCain
had fathered a black child -- that got them South Carolina. Saying that
Ann Richards was a lesbian in the 1994 Texas gubernatorial race? The 1994
"whisper campaign" claiming that an Alabama judge was a pedophile? My
all-time favorite was the time (1996 Alabama Supreme Court race) when Rove
vicously attacked his own client (Harold See) in flyers delivered to
people's doorsteps just before the election -- they managed to blame these
horrible fliers on the opposition, thus making the opposition look vicious
and unfair. Rove's guy won by a narrow margin. Rove is completely
ruthless and he has no hint of a conscience. His goal is simply to win
and it doesn't matter how it is done. Actually, by far the worst and most
vile example of all, and one that might put Rove in jail, was the
imprisonment of the Governor of Alabama on phony charges. Rove was
involved.
I'll say this on the Republican's behalf -- if they don't try to "blacken
up" Obama, and also "Islamicize" him, they are missing an opportunity to
get votes from a few million morons out there. It is definitely a
strategy that will help them so long as it isn't obvious that they are
doing it. The "terrorist fist jab" idea probably backfired for them but
I'm not sure.
