See Mike, that flies in the face of everything you have said on this forum about how much money people are worth. Why is it alright for Edwards to make 3.5 million on the backs of another person's injuries, when it is not alright for a CEO to make 3.5 million when his company is selling goods?
Maybe I am having a bad day, if I am, its because it is so hard for me to concentrate with your inconsistencies blinding me all day long.

Did he help any sick people who were harmed by reckless doctors or hospitals? What do you think should be done -- should we just stop having malpractice lawsuits in order to save money on healthcare? I definitely prefer the world I have now to a world without malpractice suits.
Oh then, I am sure that Edwards only took a small but reasonable amount of the cut from each of those suits, after all it is all about taking care of the sick or injured isn't it? I am sure those 3.5 million plus payouts he received went to those who really needed it.
For someone who seems to know very little you come across as quite confident, even defiant. Today has not been a good day for you.
Usually an attorney will take about 1/3 of the settlement and the other 2/3 goes to the client. Is that a bad system? I don't think it is. The attorney is motivated to provide the maximum possible settlement for his client, which is just what you would want as a client. If Edwards took $3.5 million, then his client probably took about $7.0 million. So the $7.0 million "went to those who really needed it," and the other $3.5 million went to Edwards and from there I'm not sure where, but probably some of it goes to campaigning and some to charity.
Mike
