We recently had a discussion about my son's condition. Well today was his cardiologist appointment. Honestly, I never really expected to have this particular doctor to say anything about Holt-Oram, but I did have him take a look.

 

It took him a minute to recognize the oddity in his hand, then when he did, he tried to pass it off that he knew about it all along. This was not very encouraging to me because his actions were of someone more than a little surprised by what he saw. He then proceeded to tell me that it had nothing to do at all with his heart. I had to question him on that, by simply asking "What about Holt-Oram?" He backpedalled again at that point and said, "Well yes, that condition would cause that." at which point he became very interested.

 

Better news for us is that the holes in his heart are closing, he seemed very excited about the progress he is making and actually took Jeremy off the medication we had him on.

 

As I said, I did not expect the cardiologist to really act on the information, and to support that he simply requested that he be allowed to see the results of any x-rays and tests that the pediatrician performs. Again, the better news is that my son looks like he will not need surgery for his heart. We can deal with the rest.
