Read about some of those people from the links on that page. Election
finance laws wouldn't allow these super-rich lying SOBs to donate so many
millions to Bush directly, so they set up this ridiculous 527 group to lie
for them.
As we know now, most billionaires were rewarded handsomely by Bush while
the rest of us have seen our salaries languish.
You should not be throwing rocks in the glass house you live in.
MoveOn.org is the same exact type of organization and they use many
millions of dollars to the same ends.
Two questions:
(1) what will contributors to moveon.org receive if a Democrat is elected?
(2) what lies did moveon.org disseminate?
I don't live in moveon.org's house but I do read their email messages.
Slanted? Sure. But they haven't lied to me yet as far as I can tell.
Also, it was not so much that Kerry came back and told his stories and
denounced the war. Kerry's problem was that he wanted it both ways. One
cannot denounce something and then later try to use the very thing you
denounced as a tool to get elected. Kerry through is ribbons,
essentially his honors away, thus rejecting what they stood for, but
when it became important to him, he wanted that honor back. Sorry, as an
ex-military man, I can speak to how that would make other veterans feel
about the man.
I can understand why he would do that. The war was heinous, so he was
rejecting honors for cooperating with the war effort. But did he serve
his country and face enemy fire? Yes. So people who respect that may do
so. With Vietnam, times and attitudes have shifted considerably over the
years. Kerry didn't want it both ways at one point in time, but he wanted
it different ways at different times and that reflects how most people see
the Vietnam war.
