A good album to start with by them is probably either Deadwing (my personal fav - a bunch of very driving tracks as well as more psychedelic or dreamy tracks), or Stupid Dream (not as dark, and a little older).
Many think Stupid Dream is one of if not the best album by them.
Although, their newest full-length, Fear of a Black Planet has a track (Anesthetize) with Alex Lifeson playing some solo guitar. Assuming you're familiar with Rush, you'll know who he is.
The track reminds me of Echoes by Pink Floyd. Nearly 18 minutes long. Beautiful, dark, driving, tight, and heavenly at the end. Has about 40 seconds of about the fastest guitar/bass/drumming I've ever heard in my life in the middle as a segway.
I'm hoping to talk a friends of mine back in MI to meet me somewhere in the future just to see them play.

I'll leave this post with: anyone who think they would like a more driving, modern sounding Pink Floyd that I think sounds of a Rush, Pink Floyd, and YES or King Crimson combination seriously ought to check them out.
They have a Myspace page with some full-length tracks to check out.
I'll check out Porcupine Tree.
Hey -- they are excellent. Nice tunes, innovative instrumentation, solid guitar playing. All things I like.
