OK, so they are really layoffs at DoubleClick, but this still gives me
pause.
Maybe the world really is coming to an end?
On the other hand, if I see a company buy up another company, then lay off
workers, (I'm no expert but...) my first thought is that there may have
been some overlap in their businesses and/or the move was merely
anticompetitive. I think in this case Google was buying all of
Doubleclicks business connections, the customer base, and they didn't care
about the employees.
