I guess I've not considered age a barrier that I particularly thought
needed to be overcome. Now... if Maya Angelou were to run we'd have a
triple-crown candidate.
I'd be more surprised if he actually made it into office.

I'll pretty much be wearing sackcloth and ashes and wrenching out my
hair regardless of who wins in November, but I have to admit that I'd
love to see certain "never happened before" things happen in a first
woman or first black president.....
If McCain wins it will be the oldest ever to enter the White House.
McCain is a few years older than Reagan was when he won in 1980 and
Reagan was the previous record holder.
McCain doesn't expect to stay for a second term (he has said so), so
don't be surprised if he does a bunch of unpopular things.
