While a lot of them drop the P, here's a helpful tutorial

I would like to go through the photos at a more leisurely pace but I'm not
sure that is possible. It looks like I can find most by google image
search for "owned."
Anyway, the thing I'd like to know is if there is a definitive or at least
convincing etymology for pwn or pwned. I'm sure it came from own and
owned (and from obtaining root access without permission), but why was the
'o' replaced with a 'p'? One suggestion is that the p-key is next to the
o-key, and I can believe that, but someone must have looked into this.
People usually do searches of old usenet archives for clues.
(btw. Packing.org used to be the goto site for people who wished to know
what conceal-carry laws are across the country... especially what states
would honor other state's permits. The owner took it in a different
direction and stopped keeping it updated and other sites were forced to
step in and pick up the load.)
It looks like a person who is "packing" is the one who is "owned."
