Not really, but some amount of connection is always there. It's better to reframe the issue and focus on transparency, reliability, fraud detection, etc.

It will always be a given, but like you said, focus on the other parts and I think it makes it not as worthwhile to invest in and corrupt, and makes it better overall to utilize another method, such as the Condorcet one you mentioned earlier. Would that lead to a more democratic election, or would it lead to more autocracy/theocracy? Just looking at the flip side of the coin..
