I know why - no one would say it's OK. Learn what many politicians
already know: Lying works! Just say you're trying to stop the illegal
immigrants and then don't really try to stop them.
Basically that is what we are doing?
Sure.
Employers do not have to pay illegal immigrants workers compensation,
insurance, payroll taxes, or unemployment insurance. Why should these
companies get a free pass? How can a legitimate company compete with one
that is hiring illegals? We need to stop that immediately.
All I can say is, it must be that the companies that hire illegals have
more political influence than the companies that feel they are losing out
because of illegal workers.
But more than that, the whole American culture and experience is based
upon an open society, and welcoming new peoples and ideas.
I don't think I have ever heard anyone in the last 20 years worrying
about the dillution of the American way of life because of illegal
immigrants.
I think some people are concerned about the language problem. They have a
good point (says I, who is forced to speak Spanish in his own home!).
