A petabyte really isn't that big anymore. Even rapidshare.com (a competitor to one of my projects) has multi-petabytes of data stored. Average schmucks can afford multiple terabytes of storage now (with a TB of space costing only around $200 now). I'll bet that we have PB drives within 10 years and as always people (like me) will be filling them and wanting more. I can download over 100GB of unique new content into my system in a few days time so TBs is already looking small to me.

Of course what people really need is reliable storage. I expect the next decade to focus a lot on making things like RAID more common. The average person still can do pretty well with 500GB of space. They just need to design computers so that they have removable hdd bays with built-in pre-configured RAID. Making backups easier will be a big thing too I think as it's gotten pretty hard to keep reliable backups when you're dealing with hundreds of gigs of data.
