Memory cards are generic; I'm not sure what that proves. Your cheaper
digitals (including the one we use) don't use raw files, but store
things as .jpg from the start.

Well, see above, plus note that it's not like you can't edit metadata.
What this really is CYA behavior by Wal*Mart, who I am guessing make
about zero on this business, but just want to make sure you don't
visit some other store and accidently buy stuff you should be buying
from them.
