I have to say it's never happened to me and my photos are all taken with
a digital SLR and quality lenses. Perhaps they don't think much of my

It all depends on the store, who manages the photo lab and who is employed
there.
Related idea: One of my friends was buying something in a store using a
credit card and the checkout girl looked at his signature and said that
she didn't think it matched his card. He just said that was ridiculous,
took his stuff and left! Some people try to enforce the rules, however
badly, and everyone else lets things slide (letting it slide might be
learned after a few attempts at enforcement).
