The sheer size of the thing means that you need to wade through a lot of

I am sure Mike Miller will point out some infelicities here, but this
has to be the correct approach to teaching something as completely
boring and unintuitive as model fit statistics. I will submit that even
if you don't know *anything* about this subject, you can get something
out of this.
It would be useful if shown by someone who knows what to say about the
slides. I like the Cartoon Guides by Larry Gonick and I own a few of
them. In fact, when a friend started an MBA program recently and thought
she'd be taking a stat course, I told her to get a copy of this:
http://www.amazon.com/Cartoon-Guide-Statistics-Larry-Gonick/dp/0062731025
It doesn't replace a good intro stat book but it is a lot of fun to read
and it is accurate. Some people seem to find it too difficult, but my
friend always had me to answer questions.
I'll direct my friends who teach AIC to that web page. Maybe they can use
it.
Mike
