I just picked up a CD in the library called "The Sound of Rio:
Brasileirinho," and some of the guitar playing on it just blew my mind.
The guitarist is Yamandú Costa from Passo Fundo in the south of Brazil:

I wondered why I hadn't heard of him. I guess it's because he is so
young. He's only 27 years old right now and was 24 when he recorded the
stuff for the CD I picked up. This isn't the kind of music that gets a
lot of local airplay so it sometimes takes a while before I happen to hear
it. I looked him up on YouTube and found this:

It's pretty good, but the solo guitar on the CD is even more impressive to
me. He plays a 7-string nylon-string guitar and I think most people would
find it hard to believe that what they are hearing is just one instrument.
