This Frost kid is an example of what happens when that system succeeds. He received the care he needed from legislation already in place.

And this successful system that you refer to is the very system that would have been expanded if Bush had not vetoed the bill. I guess I can infer from your comment that you wish Bush had not vetoed the bill.

Regardless, by putting a specific child in the spotlight you are pandering to emotion not reason.

No, it isn't just emotion and not reason. This is an example of a child who benefitted from S-CHIP. It is very reasonable to look at many such examples while making a decision about whether S-CHIP should be expanded.

Why not rationally show what happens to a society that doesn't maintain the health of its children? That seems to take care of things without putting a 12 year old in harms way for political gain.

In what sense was the child "in harm's way?" Why should we prefer an argument that offers no specific examples to one that does offer such examples? If you want to know what a country is like with no health care for poor children, look anywhere in the developing world. It's horrible.

So I guess you agree that S-CHIP should be expanded but you don't like seeing an individual child shown as an example of the success of the program.
