My guess is that the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, which is now
funded to do some research on this kind of battery, will not produce
something that can power your laptop for 30 years. Reporters like to
exaggerate because it attracts attention and then we see the ads on their
web pages.
I would think such batteries would be used for very low power devices.
Will they ever power a laptop? We'll see but I'm not holding my breath.
