Outrageous and inaccurate comments on reddit?? No way; I can't believe it!!

(Note that the problem of people citing crap a lot also happens in
academia sometimes.) The problem with something as big as reddit is
clearly that even if 99.9% of people have enough frontal cortex not to
feed the trolls, the other 1 in 1000 will still flood the first page.
My solution is not to read comments at all, ever, unless there are
fewer than 20 or so. And even then I usually skip it.

The comments are mostly just graffiti, so I would recommend that you
ignore them.
