Below is what I sent originally. It seems that one friend has no problem working on her Mac with data DVDs I've burned in Nero. Another friend can't use them on her Mac. I don't know why she can't read my DVDs. Any idea? Is it something she's doing wrong on the Mac (OS X)?

Is it even possible to make a data DVD for a Mac using a Windows PC. I mean, theoretically it has to be possible, but what software can do it? I have Nero 6, and it seems to require that I have an HFS partition on my Windows PC. I would like to be able to make data DVDs that are readable both by Windows PCs and by Macs. Nero can do that only if the data are written twice to the disc (and maybe only on CDs - not sure). Is there really no format that can be read by both kinds of computers?

Wikipedia says that Joliet format is readable by both Mac and PC. I thought I was using Joliet when I burned data DVDs in Nero. Any idea what is going on with this? Would DVD+R media be better than DVD-R for Macs? I think Macs only write to DVD+R but I also think that they read DVD-R.
