I watched the DVD "9/11: Press for Truth" the other night. I don't even know how it got to the top of my rental queue, and I didn't even remember hearing about the movie. So it came in the mail and I watched it.

It wasn't a wacky conspiracy-theory movie. Instead it focuses on the failures of the Bush administration to stop the 9/11 attacks. Much of it is based on the work of a guy called Paul Thompson (a pen name, I guess) who wrote a 9/11 timeline and posted it on the 'net...

The "Jersey Girls" (a few wives of men killed in the WTC) found his timeline and really liked it. The movie is about them and about the timeline. The Jersey Girls had mostly voted for Bush and they expected him to be helpful in getting their questions answered, or so they said. Anyway, it didn't go well for them and they became increasingly frustrated with all the secrecy surrounding the 9/11 events. They were not impressed with the 9/11 Commission and its findings.

The most interesting thing in the movie for me was that Paul Thompson was able to find newspaper articles published before 9/11 that had predicted that planes were to be hijacked and crashed in a terrorist attack on the U.S. He did a lot to trace the history of American involvement with bin Laden and he traced their attempts to get bin Laden in Pakistan.

Anyway, pretty interesting stuff and though it is unfavorable to Bush/Cheney et al., I don't think it had much dubious info. Wikipedia doesn't suggest any flaws in the film:

It didn't get many reviews on RottenTomatoes:

Anyway, there are quite a few interesting tidbits in the movie, so I will recommend it.

Mike
