I wouldn't recommend any comedians or other entertainers as sources of
information about materials, engineering, melting points or any other
aspect of physical, chemical, biological or social sciences.
I would not recommend it either, but she has a voice and a reach larger than the voices of reason in some cases. When Jane-American house wife hears Rosie say it, well she must know what she is talking about. Let me go get a book and read about it. Oh dear, yeah this book tells it like it is, fire cannot melt steel in a building. It can't melt the bar-b-que grill, she must be right, there has to be a conspiracy.
I was watching an old interview with the Beatles a while ago and they were
pointing out that they are always asked about all sorts of social issues
as if they have some special expertise. The same thing happens to movie
stars. Once they realize that people actually care what they think, they
start to study a little, just a little, and then shoot their mouths off.
I don't imagine this will change any time soon!
Nope, I agree, but as long as there are those out there who are willing to listen, and then go out and spend $15.00 on a book about the subject because their favorite celebrity believes it, then you will have these cooks giving good reviews about books on the fringe.
