According to one Washington insider, Republicans might try to remove
Cheney from office when it is time for him to have his pacemaker worked on
so that they can stick Fred S. Thompson in the Vice Presidency and improve
his chances at winning in 2008:

The nice thing about Thompson, an actor, is that he is really good at
faking genuineness, and that is really useful skill in politics,
especially when your goal is to help your corporate friends and the very
wealthy to screw the American people. They just might pull it off!
