I don't know whether I really believe the source, but this is a little
bit interesting:

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/06/07/apple_using_zfs_in_leopard/

ZFS is open source (but not free software), and, as far as I can tell,
seems to be the best thing since sliced bread as far as filesystems
go. If Apple does go this way, I think it's very interesting because
it continues what I see as a very productive trend for them, to use
open source software wherever it really makes sense (kernel, file
system, printing, etc.) but not where it doesn't (X is basically crap,
so they did their own GUI). In other words, the world probably did not
need yet another file system, so by picking one that was out there,
you can make the world a better place by making sure that ZFS is as
good as it can be.

Of course, it is still disappointing that Aqua is still very
proprietary, but I think it at least gives people thinking about the
next windowing system for BSD and Linux something to shoot at
(thorough-going PDF and GL, among other things).

Anyway, does anybody have any recommended reading on ZFS for the slightly lazy?
