Nah, I googled "mouse vacuum trap", saw the device mentioned, scooped the patent number and did a PN search just to make you think I didn't just use google. More seriously, the patent database is an *outstanding* resource for many things, and I probably could have done all sorts of cool things with it. You could do far worse than to come up with an automated method for finding unpatented inventions via searching electronic databases; hmm...that might just be patentable. :-)
