I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. I've had other providers who
place limits on how many domains may be utilizing the account
resources... Now-a-days this is a very antiquated policy and I'm sure
you'll never see it, but it is what made me leave FutureQuest.net (that
and they cost tons more).
It's still such a pleasure to me that I make mention of it even though
it is a bit anachronistic. The great thing is that all domain and
subdomain stuff is entirely automated and there are no delays.... you
register a domain or setup a sub domain and within 10 minutes to an hour
or so you can start using.... with FutureQuest and others it was days
and then the 72 hour DNS prorogation.
There are no limits to how many you can pay to register (which is
different than my past experience). Further, most TLDs are only $5.99 a
year... also, there are 5 domain registrations complimentary with your
account, so if I'm paying $120 a year and that's a $60 value well....
To Jon... Yes... they've had some hiccups... there are a few annoyances
(but very few). Very powerful, very affordable, very efficient. Most
of the negatives were early on in the USA endeavors and they worked it
out.... the only constant is a crappy crappy webmail client which
they rewrote a while back at the hue and cry of their customers. It
also sucks, but once you are on a paying account you can choose to use
IMAP4 and then install SquirrelMail and use that instead of their client
(if you're a webmail user0.
Very very happy... If I would have complaint it would be that the i/o
pipe is not the fastest in the world but it is adequate. You only
notice it really when you're trying to transfer a super high volume of
stuff and you're stuck there watching the progress bar crawl from one
end to the other.

I have heard what sound like impossible legends surrounding 1and1;
are they really that great? If so, how do they stay in business?
How is it possible to allow unlimited domains for $10/mo? Isn't there
some registration cost for each one?
