Let me say one more thing. The allegations of sexual harrassment are potentially huge. Either Bill is a total obnoxious sleazeball, or the woman accusing him is a total obnoxious sleazeball. At least one of those two has to be true. But which? Right now there simply isn't any way to tell. But if the truth ever really does come out, I am going to be very angry at one of them. But I cannot be angry at either of them now, because I could so easily be angry at an innocent person.

I suppose I'll never know what really happened, but I feel pretty sure that O'Reilly did many of the things he was accused of doing. It's just not the kind of thing you can let go if you are totally innocent. On the other hand, I don't know what Mackris was like while these things were happening. It's hard to imagine any man going on and on with all the sex talk if he was getting absolutely no encouragement in return. So let's say that he was getting such encouragement. Well, she wouldn't have tape recorded that. So O'Reilly was stuck.

The moral is the same for O'Reilly as for Clinton and any other man in a position of power. If he cheats on his spouse or talks about sex with another woman, he is taking a huge risk with his career, with his money and with his marriage. Even ignoring the moral issue, it's just a really bad idea.
