My sense is that Al Franken put way too much attention on the ANS-like

That's a good question -- does O'Reilly get facts wrong about things other
than himself? I have seen him say things that were demonstrably, incorrect
then repeat them angrily when questioned. Stuff like that.
Do you have any examples in mind? I'm not trying to probe you - if you
say you don't remember them off hand, I'll accept that. But I want to get
a sense of the nature of these incorrect statements. I have to admit that
I have never heard him say anything that was clearly wrong or misleading.
I don't always agree with his conclusions, but I have always felt that
his process of arriving at the conclusions was up front and honest. But I
could be wrong.
Incidently, refering to my other email, in our departmental politics, I
also have said stuff that was wrong. Never intentionally, but in the heat
of battle, mistakes do get made.
