Someone might look this up, but I believe I've heard that the new rule is
not to say someone's race unless it is of some importance. For example,
if a man kills his wife and then himself, his race is not important, but
if a man kills his wife and is wanted for murder, then his race is
important because it helps to describe his appearance.
The kid in Rolla was already apprehended, so they didn't have a reason to
announce his race. Why does it matter if he is black, white, asian,
hispanic, native american, etc.?
If you are thinking you are going to bait me into an argument, I am sorry to tell you that it is not going to work. I agree with you, the race of the person has nothing to do with the telling of the story.
