So you think O'Reilly will pay out more than $2 million to anyone who

He was going to fight it to the end. His legal counsel persuaded him to
settle, and he didn't like it. The settlement was also for a lot less
than originally requested. IIRC.
If he were really like that, I am surprised that more people didn't come
forward. It was a really strange situation from the start.
Furthermore, Mike, while your question makes sense, it really isn't
beyond the realm of possibility that it has a reasonable answer. But
you ask it in a manner "of course no reasonable explanation exists," but
then what is worse, when someone does provide a reasonable explanation,
you accuse that person of a hidden agenda.
It would be better if you first asked the question, then allowed someone
to provide a reasonable explanation, and then the proper response on
your part is to provide a logically stated and calm counter-argument as
to why the reasonable explanation might not hold up. That way you have
a proper and reasoned conversation, and perhaps even some hope of coming
to a consensus.
