You've touched on this practice in our culture but have neglected to mention the culture that still actively forces their girls into doing this, and not always when they are babies, and not always with anesthetic. The cultures of female genital mutilation are horrid and cruel and un-excusable. It's not just removal of the clitoris, but also the cutting and sewing together of the labia majora and minora so that they heal together. I've read horrible accounts on this when a classmate did a large term project on the practice and cited experience after experience of girls 11, 12 and 13 being told that they are going to have something done to signify their transition into womanhood and then the living hell that they go through when they are mutilated with no anesthetic. It reminds me of a more humorous account from "Robin Hood, Men in Tights" where the good Friar, I mean Rabbi offers them all circumcisions and describe the virtues of it looking bigger and attracting the ladies.... Every guy around starts clamoring to have one, and a few want two. Then the good rabbi whips out his little 'device', and suddenly he's met with a lot of declines that he's unable to understand."

I think a burqa is a cloak to hide more than a women's body for issues of modesty, but also to hide misery and shame. (not all, but certainly in the regions where this is performed.... some are _compassionate_, _clear thinking_, _humane_, and _human_ humans in the overall groups where some 'sects' perform this crap.)

If you truly want to give yourself both nightmares and a desire to vomit repeatedly and then lock your daughters in a enclosure protected by vicious dogs and feminists with machine guns and grenade launchers, read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female_circumcision Even with the BS that certain editors have tried again and again to introduce to the article, it still presents the lion's share of the facts. If you want to enjoy the rest of your evening, _don't_ read it.

Also, if your ears are habitually dry and itch for that reason, try a little Vaseline intensive care lotion on the tip of the q-tip to see if it helps. If you have other issues, you might try an exclusion diet to isolate what might be giving you troubles.

I wouldn't be surprised if food has something to do with it.

I hate even more the religion of circumcision (for non religious reasons), which mutilates our children to discourage masturbation and other emotional evils and psychosis.

I left my son as he was. Back in the '30s (and maybe at other times) they thought it was very bad for girls to masturbate and they would actually sometimes do surgery to remove the clitoris (called clitoridectomy or clitorectomy). One reason I know about this is that it was written about in a book about the Genain Quadruplets, four genetically-identical girls who all had it done. All four grew up to have schizophrenia. I don't know if clitoridectomy can cause schizophrenia, and I doubt that it can, but it probably doesn't help any! Something about this is mentioned here:

They call it "female circumcision" in the article, but it did involve clitoridectomy. I have the Rosenthal book.

It's strange that things went in a strong anti-masturbation direction during that time. Consider this (doctors used to give women orgasms at the turn of the century):

I have a rather unique viewpoint on this one such that I can testify and answer a lot of questions that people 'think' they know the answer to w/o really 'knowing'. Boy the psychiatry/ology of the 50s and 60s has a lot to atone for

Few people ever admit they were wrong. They just die and are replaced.
