I'm sure I swallow plenty of snot -- that's what post nasal drip is, 
right?  So I don't think it is especially harmful, but it is not an 
appealing food and it's never all that inconvenient to toss it on the 
floor somewhere.  Maybe we should be glad that people eat it instead of 
flicking it.  I especially don't like it when I see that some guy has 
stuck one on the wall in front of a urinal.  I don't want to look at that! 
Now if he had eaten it...
