Oh.. just to be clear, I wasn't upset... It was just a chance to get on my soapbox about a couple of issues that have pissed me off for years.

Btw.. I've heard parent's tell their children that they are incurring God's wrath and/or sinning if they pick their nose.... I've heard secular parents say things similarly bad... Other consequences for bad behavior, not necessarily going blind :)

I think if I was a teacher in school and caught a child doing it or eating it, I would calmly tell them, "I hope you brought enough for everybody."

Nothing that people stopping being stupid homophobic liars wouldn't fix.

For one person to say that they can't say in their opinion whether another person of the same gender is attractive is absolute hogwash.

This occurs most often in males of course, and for one to say, 'he's a good lookin' guy' usually results in an almost irresistible urge to fart, drink a beer, punch a 98 pound weakling, and make derogatory comments objectifying women.

It's rubbish, and it needs to change.

Was that outburst motivated by my joke "So what's going on with you two?!" in response to your comment about Barack Obama, "I think he's damn attractive and charismatic." Don't worry, I didn't think anything was going on between the two of you. ;-)

Oh, and I'm tired of people lying about picking their noses as well and people beating their kids over it.

I just want to smack people who yuck it up because 'they saw someone picking their nose', and tell them congratulations for being more successful at being discrete about it.

Wow. What happened to you? I've never heard of this problem before. Maybe it's a Missouri thing.
