First, he is a northerner, he will have some difficulty in the south
and even more difficulty there because he is black.
He is also relatively new to the world of politics, this might be a
good thing for him and certainly would be a great thing if he had a
more recognizable name.
Both items can be simply remedied by a press release where he announces
that he will now be known as Barak "Bubba" Obama. It worked for George.
