Yes. Maybe if you want to run for president and not get a bunch of mud
thrown at you shouldn't dedicate a chapter of you memoirs about your
college and HS partying:

Not so -- if you want to run for President, never smoke a joint or do any
"blow." But, if you have done those things, write a book about it at
least 10 years before running for office. That way it isn't news when
your campaign starts up.
Most people know that teenagers of the 70s and 80s very often smoked
marijuana and tried a few other drugs. In fact, Clinton, Gore and Bush
probably all at least smoked marijuana (even though they were a bit
older than Obama). So I don't think this will kill Obama's candidacy.
One weird thing about Obama - he smokes cigarettes, or so I hear. If it
is true, and he still smokes, he must be doing it privately so that he
isn't photographed.
I think both of Obama's parents were deceased by the time they were his
age. His father died in a car accident and his mother had cancer.
So the Republican approach is to lie about Democrat candidates in order
to discredit them? Can't that backfire because people don't like to
elect liars? Or will the Republican candidate really get away with
saying "It wasn't me."?
That's right Mike, the Republicans are the only party who has ever bent
the truth about their opponents in an election.
"Swift Boating" should refer to outright fabrications and not just bending
the truth. Obama's cocaine use requires no lying.
Mike
