For one example: Joe Satriani didn't make the list.

A couple of other examples: Steve Morse was widely recognized as one of the great rock guitarists of his time. He's not on the list. I guess he wasn't popular enough. Steve Howe is at #69 on the list but he was selected as "Best Overall" guitarist in Guitar Player magazine every year from the time they started the category until he was retired (after 5 straight years). I think that warrants a higher position on the list. The reason he was winning Best *Overall* (this was back in the late '70s or so) was that he could play well in so many styles -- "Mood For A Day" on nylon strings, "The Clap" on steel strings, jazzy lines on electric guitar or his usual progressive rock guitar thing. There aren't many who can play like that (and that includes the first 68 on that list).
