It's called "social conservatism," Jon. The idea is to vote for people
who pretend to care about, say, abortion and in exchange they will lie to
you and screw your children out of a decent future. If you close your
eyes and imagine that you are saving the babies, it doesn't hurt so much
when $2.7 trillion is taken from your country in only 5 years. The real
pain comes later when abortion continues as always and you start having to
pay back on that monstrous debt.
Social conservatism is almost the opposite of fiscal conservatism.
