4) Find a nearby state with less stringent inspections.

aka "West Virginia". An interesting idea, but I'd pretty much have to lie, and so I won't do that.

5) Look on ebay. I've got a headlight assembly for a 92 sentra for $40 shipped.

That's worth a shot. I don't think I could possibly get away that cheaply because, with all due respect to your Sentra, the on-the-road : rusting-in-junkyards ratio is probably rather higher for my car. :-)

6) Get some clear epoxy, patch the hole, get reinspected.

I thought about that, too, but it's a pretty big hole (evidently a nasty piece of gravel bounced into it when I was driving from Missouri to Maryland) and although the repair should be possible, it wouldn't be that easy, plus I'd have to find out whether this is considered okay by the MVA people. (The reason I hadn't noticed it is that this car just does not get driven, which is an implicit argument in favor of ditching it somehow.)

If you were in Missouri, I'd make you an offer. We're expecting
another kid in June.

Congratulations! But...this is just the two-wheel drive version, and although we had two kids in it for some time, I'm not sure it's an ideal kids car at this stage of its life.

Oh well... In other news, Maryland state drivers' licenses look
really, really goofy. If I had to use this out of state as ID, I bet I
could get laughed out of the bar. :-)
