We've totally got them under control.
You could argue that even we are not doing it,
Why would anyone say that?
but face it, there is still an arms race of sorts and someone will
always have to be the big dog until which time the world population can
put aside their differences and work together.
How big does the biggest dog have to be relative to the other dogs?
I don't see this evenly remotely possible in at least 100 years, so we
are stuck with one country or another being a problem that requires a
military superpower.
Should we save money and let China be the next superpower? I mean you
don't really mean that "some country" should be the world's superpower, do
you?
You mention getting those powerful corporations under control? Do you
think it was GE that started the war in Iraq now? Surely you are not
trying to draw that conclusion just because Lockheed, Boeing, GE, or
McDonnel Douglas builds the weapons we use.
They play an important role along with the oil companies and companies
like Halliburton. If every congressman can see how his district will
profit from something, no matter how despicable it is, he is likely to
vote for it. So companies create plants and offices in as many districts
as possible.
