of it -- having a D&C, which is like having an abortion. It is

I'd very much like to know what led you to this conclusion. Would it be
all the turmoil of emotions and pressures they are under at the time
that aids them in making a decision that they might have before or since
insisted they'd make completely differently if presented with the same
scenario. Would it be the panic and desperation of being a single
parent, or being decried by highschool friends or parents and family and
church group. Would it be the fear of having a very involved adult
physical and emotional and financial experience by a body and person
that really wasn't mature and old enough to make the proper decision on
whether or not to engage in the adult activities that resulted in the
decision needing to be made. Somehow I'm thinking a lot of the 'careful
consideration' on the decision of whether or not to abort can be pretty
summed up in the statement, "Oh my God, what the hell do I do? My life
is over. Help me. I'm not ready. My life is ruined. Just make it go
away."
I really wonder in the discussion of the procedure if the staff at
Unplanned Parenthood don't downplay the unpleasant aspect of the
procedure and D&C. Somehow even if they didn't, I'm very doubtful that
fear of the procedure plays much of ANYTHING in the decision process...
unless perhaps they've experienced it previously. I will remind you
that previous to RvW desperation led uncounted women through history to
allow people to root around with coat hangers, acid, sticks, etc....
often at the cost of their own lives. I can just see the privacy forms
and right to refuse notifications and consent to treat forms the girls
used to have to sign when going to the local witch doctor, apothecary,
or back alley abortionist after having read the disclosure of risk
factors involved in the procedure.
Is it any wonder that it's becoming a growing awareness and treatment
field of caring for women who have made the decision and then later
spend the rest of their lives racked with guilt, regret and even despair.
