My dad has been dong teaching in the schools here in Las Vegas... there
are High School students that can't read, my dad taught remedial reading
to 11th graders with 4th grade books.... The 8th grade kids
automatically pass the 8th grade by starting the 8th grade, so all the
8th graders don't do any work (well not ALL but i'm sure a great
majority) or show up to classes very often... because they all this this
attitude here about what the school can do for them, and they don't have
to do anything they don't want to. The teachers and admin tell the
students they pass no matter what.  They yelled at my dad for flunking a
kid that only went to his class once, and never turned any work in.... I
already had a low oppinion of the school district here, but the more i
hear about how things are run and how teachers aren't allowed to teach
or at least grade properly, the more scared I am to EVER have children!
Especially letting them go to Public school here!  they are one of the
highest government money income school districts in the country and one
of the poorest scoring districts. I find that hilarious!  They don't pay
their teachers anything, and the admins are soaking up over 100K+ a
year. I just don't understand.... then again, i don't understand the
horribly unbalance that is the business world either :P 

I saw a girl walking with a flute the other day and i thought, DIDN"T
THEY GET rid of most of the music programs in the school district???  

PS. I HATE wireless keyboards. they miss letters and apparently like to
press SHIFT for half of my sentances!   Thanks.  I know, pointless rant
there!
