It looks like "free energy" means that you don't have to pay for it. That is entirely different from a perpetual motion machine. In perpetual motion there can be no external source of energy, not even a free one. Thus, the Earth's rotation, Earth's magnetic field, power from the Sun or movement of air are all not allowed in perpetual motion.


Look at any of the dozen or so web pages google puts out to see long lists of failed attempts. There is a perpetual delusion that the laws of physics will suddenly be violated by a little home-made machine.
