Just accept that if there is a God then obviously there is a God and if not there is nothing to stop someone, probably me, from becoming God.
I think the laws of physics will stop you.
Nothing is impossible - you just have to learn the rules well enough to get around them. Every time people think something can't be done then someone else goes and does it eventually. Besides God is such a loose term that to qualify isn't that hard I think. To people a even 200 years ago your average person today would seem to have God-like powers. Turning lights on and off with the clap of a hand, communicating words, pictures, video, and more instantly clear across the world, cooking food instantly, etc. Technology accelerates it's own growth as it grows so who knows where it'll be in 200 years more and certainly not in 2000 years. Genetics, nanotech, faster than light communication, and much more will probably be common place technologies well within even the 200 year mark so 2000 years from now is just unimaginable. I can see technology magnifying our human traits such as enjoying communication and creativity and satisfying our basic curiosity. I'd expect whatever we see in the future to continue to feed those human needs and because of that I expect to see people able to communicate much easier and faster than they do now, have easier ways to create and new ways to study the world around us and process the data from those observations. To me that says we'll be thinking faster and better as a collective mind as well as as individuals.
